Center Base Programs

The NESC currently operates 5 day programs which broaden the special education services in the school setting, allowing the child to be educationally served closer to home. The program seeks to develop daily living, academic, and social skills for each student involved.

The day programs are located in the following districts: Castlewood (one program for elementary age students and one program for high school age students), Florence, Grant-Deuel, and Sioux Valley.

The center-base staff includes instructors and paraprofessionals who assist in the classroom,
and also provide transportation where needed.

Both school and home based programs are provided to preschool age children, ages birth through five, who are in need of special assistance due to:
Cognitive delays
Gross and fine motor skills
Social or behavioral difficulties
Speech and language delays
